So tired of them trying to scam people! I have gotten at least a dozen calls in the last few days. I was forced to get a new phone but my old one is still going until right after Christmas so I am getting the calls on BOTH phones! I just hung up on this one so I don't really know what their angle is. I assume they want you to call so they can get your account number.
@E_Pluribus_Unum#171103 I am here to take on tech support scammers, particularly the ones faking email companies, they got my grandma, all because a scammer happened to get the top search in google one day. She clicked on it, called, and they did the whole “your email is hacked” thing, then got her credit card info. They also took her email acc. password, changed it (now she has 2FA) and locked her out. When we came over for dinner with them the next day, I asked her " What did they do?" and she said they got into her computer, downloaded some “email recovery tools” (they actually installed malware, and a RAT) and claimed they had the account. They said “You have to pay us first to get your email back” so she did, then they hung up the call. i despise people like that. Makes me sick, so I try to do anything I can to waste time with those types of scammers.
