@elvis#156807 Bhen Chod = Sister Fucker
@elvis#156825 For last couple of weeks I am targetting cashapp scammers. They say download app “quicksupport/teamviewer” from your smartphone .
I always say I have an Android phone. So never menion iPhone. Emulator runs on my VM and wireshark on the host PC.

Thanks! Great advice here. Indeed I think I've got my shopping list complete now. It will just take me a bit to cobble everything together. I want to be sure I get this right.

Hah, figures. The things you learn. Shoulda looked it up. A search for "how to swear in hindi" returns an impressive array of results. So when the lad calls me a m***f***er, is that what I should tell him? Bhen chod? Or is there something better?
It's funny, but swearing in a different language doesn't sound like anything bad at all.

Definitely a handy thing to have. So to summarize, now my list looks like this (I *think* this is everything):
Turns out my proposed scambaiting PC had a really small disk so I ordered a larger one. While I’m waiting for that I figured I’d try some BobRTC’ing. My first experience did not go well. First call, waited on hold for the “next available agent”, then they hung up after a minute. Second call, same thing. Third call, pressed 49 for “technical support”, waited some more on hold, they hung up. Fourth call, same thing. Fifth call (to a travel scam) finally got through to a human - yay! Lad asked me where I wanted to go, I said New York to London, he instantly hung up on me. WTF??? Is this typical?
OK OK, I’m not even sure which subforum this should go it but I’m still laughing too hard to care. I’ve found the soundboard I’ve been looking for:

Maybe I'm just easily amused but you have to check this out:

Look out for the “Shaun Parker” Indian refund scam group… really prompt and will pick up the phone easily.
@elvis#156887 Very good list.

@drwat#157677 Very good list.
OK great! I'm slowly figuring this out. There's a couple of sites offering pre-made VM's with good tools already loaded. I'm thinking of using one of them. That would save a lot of work. I still do want to use a separate PC just for baiting. I do not trust the security of Virtualbox. See eg.

@elvis#157684 Thank you for alerting us.
@elvis#156508 Hey.
I don’t have a computer so I focus on SSA.
I have some tips.
Make a fake identity.
I have one, Vladimir Daxadev from Russia.
Make sure you have some good info accesible (fake credit card, social security, address, etc)
Try to slip cultural references in with the scammers, they may not understand them.
I haven’t tried this yet but there are videos by this guy called Quackity, he’s made literal rap songs with scammers, you should watch them.
If you find Japanese scams hit me up with them, my friend and I can pester them.
@elvis#157684 Thank you for that. I have both VMWare and was Virtualbox, I’ll stop and update virtualbox in the meantime
Warning: 10 vulnerabilities have been discovered in VMware in July 2020. Update your software if necessary.
Yes, it is not so much this particular vulnerability that concerns me, it’s the next one that hasn’t been reported yet. I figure 80% of these scammers are total idiots. They don’t bother me. 19% are just doing their chob. They’re a minor nuisance. It’s the remaining 1% who are truly evil and smart criminals that worry me. Stay safe!
Well I’ve got my hardware upgrades complete. Went from 4 GB of RAM to 16 GB and 160 GB of disk to 2 TB. That should give me plenty of room to download all my tools, run multiple VM’s, maybe even dual-boot Windows and Linux, and the new drive uses half the power of the old one. Such a bargain!
Now I need to install all the items from my list above. I've already got my VM running. I just need to decorate it. As someone else mentioned, nothing screams VM like a fresh install of Windows. I'm going to install a bunch of granny-type games, recipes, etc. Maybe a few booby traps for scammers to upload, heh heh.
Anyone looking for some truly ugly wallpaper, check out:
https://www.desktopnexus.com/tag/ugly/
There are some spectacularly nauseating wallpapers there. I'd post my fave but I can't figure out how to insert images here.
No need for that, if you got your system set up, then keep going!!
Just to update this, I’ve spent the past week customizing and decorating my VM. I’d love to describe everything I did but I don’t want to give any assistance to the enemy. Suffice it to say I spent a long time watching Kitboga and Jim Browning. By now I’ve covered all the bases I could think of. It was a lot more work than I had expected. Not hard, just tedious. But Granny’s gonna have those scammers wishing they’d chosen an easier career path.
Next I'm going to download TeamViewer and do a dress rehearsal myself. I'd like to find a workaround to the screen blanking problem.
