How to hide your vm the v0dka way (bonus activator included)

so this is for anyone who is looking to setup a vm with virtual box but doesnt want to spend hours digging through documentation to do something or google for hours to find a quick fix… here is my simple setup

how to hide your vm in 3 simple steps virtualbox:

first:
https://pastebin.com/Jt51J1gw
copy this and save into a .bat file in this directory C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox

run the batch file... feel free to change the info inside of it aswell...

this will change your information stored in msinfo32 (hardware information)

Second:

modify your drives and hardware information so device manager doesnt show virtualbox

open up regedit go to the following

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum

right click on enum and go to permissions, go to advanced, click where it says owner
and change to your user account, once you have done this click add and type in everyone and give full control, this will allow you to edit your system hardware information.

right click on enum and click find

4d36e967-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318

double click on DeviceDesc and change it to a more friendly name rather than virtualbox

repeat the same for the following GUID's
4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318
4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318
4d36e96f-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318 (this one press f3 3 times and change the DeviceDesc on all 3)

third:
add some icons to the desktop, make it look pretty... your ready to scambait
you might want to use this to save time(https://ninite.com/)

fourth this is optional:: windows 10 activator for the free vm's microsoft provide

https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/

i give you the activation batch script
https://pastebin.com/LsJSAz4A

copy paste save on desktop right click run as admin, select your version whether its home, pro etc..
it will take 5-10 minutes to activate but your windows will now be activated on your
scambait machine... thats unless you use the windows is not active as a method of talking to these idiots...

hope this helps :)

Very detailed tutorial! I learned a lot

@TheBaiter#26870 I’m using VMware Workstation 12 Pro but the Win10 VM runs on Workstation 11.x compatibility

(downloaded from the official Microsoft site (https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/)

@76561198075380224#26696

did you select the right version in the menu for win10 enterprise?

Just like to add that for the first part, where it says “windows 10 machine” you need to put the name of your Virtual Machine there, I was sitting here like a melon wondering why tf it wasn’t changing on my Windows 7 Virtual Machine lol

@v0dka#26518 thx m8 , new but hope to do a diff

After running the vm bios config, I get the following:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine windows 10 machine.

Configuration error: Querying "BootDevice0" as a string failed (VERR_CFGM_VALUE_NOT_FOUND).

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

@v0dka#26518 appreciate your effort. Thanks for the Pastebin!

I have an AIO ISO I got from my university when doing a course on IT. Starting from Win10 S to Win10 Edu.

All of the Windows Versions x86 and x64. Complete with product key.
