I want to start with scambaiting.
What do I have to know?
I already know about calling services and VMs, but I don’t know how to use them. I’ve already heard about a “Anti-Scammer Toolset” by Malcolm but I don’t know how to use it.
I already know what to do after calling the scammer (shutting down their stuff).
But what do I have to do before calling a scam callcenter?
I haven’t found anything about “how to scambait”
What I would do is have a Windows 7 VM which if you don’t know how to set up, just watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjDJNLNOa58 . For calling services I would use Text Now because it lets you generate fake numbers with any area code in the US you want. For anti scammer toolkit, I recommend not using it unless you are like a youtuber going around trolling scammers. Before you call make sure your VM is as innocent as possible, have most applications that an average user would have on the desktop and change the wallpaper and customize it. And also, act as innocent as possible and sound like you are worried. Finally if they ask for any personal info use a fake generator. For example if they ask for your credit card details, type in on google credit card generator, or in some cases they might ask for something else like your social security number, just type in ssn generator etc.
