I was asking some other friends in this community on how far you’d go. Some people say mildly insulting them is good enough whilst others would go full-on remarks on race etc.
How far do you go on these people?

Far enough so that the scammer and their bosses are impacted. Mentally, financially and morally they need to be defeated (specially the owners/bosses).

Not far at all, that’st just not me. When you get down to the point where you are just shouting insults at each other, then you have both lost, IMO.
I think that if you make a scammer frustrated or make them feel foolish by wasting a ton of their time and cutting into their income, then they are more likely to give up. If you get into a fight with them, it just makes them dig into their position and more likely to keep scamming since now they view their victims as not just an easy mark, but an actual enemy.
There is an endless stream of scammers. Allowing myself to get angry and do things I wouldn't normally do (lots of swearing, racism) won't make me feel good about myself.
I use humor most often but if the scammer is annoying me by putting phone down again and again i will use naughty profanity but i don"t use racism " you can engage a scammer without lowering your self to being racist if you must "learn Hindi swearwords ect and torment them by constant dialing it drives them mad . Racism sucks .
I like to hit them with their own medicine. A mirror image of how they behave until they get sick of it and start asking why I keep calling then I will fish for some information.
I like playing dumb with them and wasting as much of their time as possible. I will curse at them depending on the situation and how rude they are to me, but if they act polite I will just continue to play along until they get fed up. I like asking them stupid questions and that usually gets them pretty mad, I love it!

We simply hate scammers because they scam.
I generally don’t have anything off limits. If we’re talking insults I’ll use just about every stereotype in the book - not to be racist but because I just want to target as many attributes of a scammer as possible. Some days I’m busier at work and have to resort to low-effort trolling and then I’ll either repeatedly say the same thing (like “Hello…hello…hello”) over and over, or I’ll just let them talk to the air as my redial app calls them over and over.
Those last two are surprisingly good at wearing down scammers and getting them aggravated but the first one (the insults) is for when I'm looking for some catharsis

Nothing is off the table. You should be racist about their mothers.
I don’t scambait - but I do rip into them - via email or via telephone. Typically, if I can figure out where they are from, I will research (when I have time) the most offensive insult to them. On one occasion it was a racist word - and I did send it back to them in an email. I felt deeply uncomfortable with it at the time, but chose to do it anyway - and a little over two weeks later I’m still on the fence about whether I regret it or not. I believe a person’s greatest failure is to not live up to their own values - and I may have achieved that level of failure on this occasion. I may do some research and try to find an alternative should the need arise.
