How do scammers know me after I’ve changed my number on text now

I’ve been harassing the Filipino vehicle call center for weeks. Sometimes they read the script, other times they hang up immediately. Today I probably had 30 calls in and they finally quit playing along. I changed my number and they still hang up after a couple of seconds. Are they seeing my IP address for my phone? Is that why I need a VPN? I don’t use virtual machines or anything like that so I don’t care if they have my cell phone IP address…or should I?

@1888TechLineOfficial#135145 Thanks TLO. If I’m using my phone as a hotspot, would it see the IP address of my computer then?

  • 1. dont use a real number. use a burner/textnow number
  • 2. they cannot get your ip address from a phone number
  • 3. they likely are overwhelmed with calls and are doing this to others too
  • 4. using your phone as a hotspot makes no difference. voip is voip, and you wont get an ip address from it.
  • It is also a possibility they recognize your voice if your not changing it or they might be looking for specific types of callers that sound more vulnerable to falling for their scam. Just change up your introduction script and voice, see if that helps.

Excellent insight guys…at times it does seem like the Scammer dregs recognize not to pick up my multiple numbers. But then I usually hammer them one number after the next and I suspect that most of their calls are scam baits anyway!

Ha! use a voice changer to change voice … I think they can tell if your using textnow or 2nd line … I been shut down b4 using those apps … over and over … change number and call more … Sometimes all of them fo one ring hang up with these apps … I dunno still can’t figure out the RECONNECT thing they do … when in call who are they * reconnecting me to ??
