How do I split tunnel my OpenVPN connection, so it only takes in my VM's traffic (NAT)?

How do I split tunnel my OpenVPN connection, so it only takes in my VM’s traffic (NAT) and not my host’s traffic?

I’m thinking about streaming myself scambating, so this would be useful. I know how to split tunnel websites though. If I do this, my call quality would probably be a lot better

I don’t use OpenVPN, so I don’t know how to split tunnel an OpenVPN connection.

Update: It didn’t work lol
Case closed, at least I think it is - I’ll just have the vpn connection running on my laptop, create a hotspot, then connect one of my usb wifi adapters to my VM and then connect to the laptop’s hotspot. Which will hopefully bring the VPN’s connection with it.

You’d want to split tunnel specific applications. For example with my VPN (Windscribe) I would add applications like OBS Studio, Chrome, Discord etc.

How to set up an OpenVPN split tunnel to optimize your OpenVPN connection may be useful.

and if your using access then Split Tunneling With Access Server | OpenVPN

I’ll take a look at that, thanks

I ended up running a hotspot on my laptop, but I used expressvpn’s tutorial on sharing a vpn connection via a hotspot (works with any vpn, not just express). And that works alright. Since I have to have a usb wifi adapter plugged into my VM, it also makes my vm look more realistic since it shows other network devices (I’m sure this isn’t a privacy risk for my neighbours and I since it just shows mine and their ssids.)
