Let me start by saying the The last person I spoke to at Bob RTC was great nice and respectful. But when I talked to lynx he was very rude and disrespectful. other posts I’ve seen from Bob RT admins and moderators lately seem to be as if you have anything to say against us then go build your own server. people should be able to talk to you guys and let you know how they feel that you can approve the server and tell you where they see flaws without you all getting in a uproar. When I had my situation and I tried to tell the lynx that I wasn’t doing anything wrong he said that couldn’t be possible . he didn’t even want to take two seconds to hear me out before he started cursing and saying bad things about me. really I expect more from our community not just Bob RTC but the whole community we all need to treat each other as equals and stop the bickering and listen and respect each other.
@Robot#121493 You can’t expect me to be super polite after we’ve detected you tampering with our handshake attempting to call phone numbers that aren’t in the system. Like i’ve said in other posts, we’ve all put our blood, sweat, and tears into building BobRTC and when you try to hurt it, you try to hurt us. That is why I take it personally when I see this.
Not to mention the fact that you’ve added 42 numbers and 34 of those have been removed. I believe @NeeP has already mentioned this factor too. That behavioral history tells me that you are either purposefully posting malicious links into the BobRTC Phonebook or aren’t sure how to differentiate a spoofed number from a scammer’s callback number. I’m sorry if I came off as rude but you need to understand that it’s very important we take BobRTC Site Security Violations very seriously. I’m glad that you had better luck duking this out with Kenzo instead of me.
At the end of the day, we're all scambaiters and we all work to fight scammers. I just wish you would have been open about what happened instead of trying to cover it up, not to mention making a bunch of one-sided posts here about your experience.
We’ll see you’re still accusing me of doing something that I didn’t do. I do know how to verify numbers. Which leads me to wonder why the numbers I posted were taken down. Maybe it’s something on your guys end maybe the people that are verifying them on your end aren’t doing it right. There’s no way over 80% of the numbers I posted were not legitimate numbers. first off I don’t post numbers until I’ve spent at least 40 minutes on the phone with the scammer. Usually the reason I post the number is so that I can call them back from a different caller ID number which means I’ve already talked to them for quite a while and know that they are scammers.I don’t know what kind of checks and balances you guys have for removing numbers off the site but personally I feel like if you have a problem with me then you could be removing all of my numbers which then makes it look like I’m posting numbers that aren’t legitimate Do you guys have any checks and balances? we as community can only go off of what you guys are telling us we have no way to check or balance what you guys are saying. I think that’s what most of the community is looking for is for you guys to be a little more open about what’s going on. so you guys say I was posting numbers that shouldn’t be on the site maybe somebody should have sent me a DM and suggested ways that I could verify the numbers how about helping your members be better at what we’re doing versus not telling me anything and then when I try to post numbers I can’t figure out why they’re not posting. Communication is the key to any relationship and making any business work.
whenever somebody says something to you guys the response usually is then go make your own dialer. That's not how you run a business.
@Robot#121502 Maybe these removed numbers, maybe that was a miscommunication with the phonebook moderator. We have the policy that we don’t remove dead numbers but maybe the moderator in question tried to call the number, it didn’t answer (cuz the scammers didn’t use it anymore) and he removed it. But that’s why I tried to look into the numbers but I pretty much couldn’t find anything about the numbers, neither against nor for their legitimacy. That’s why in future, please link to either an existing or new scammer.info forum post where you post all the information and evidence you have to a phone number. For tech support scammers that would be their popup or website. For SSA/IRS scammers you can google search the number to see if Nomorobo or Robokiller picked them up as robocaller which is very common for this type of scam and then you post the link to their listing. This way we can always see the evidence in one place and see if the number is scam or not right away without misunderstandings. Also DMs is a good idea, I will try to keep it in mind but the problem is in BobRTC there is no way to DM someone if the other person is offline. IRC chat works only if both are online. Discord idk if most people actually use it or just use it as a login method and not as chat. So it’s not always visible where and who to contact.
The thing is, sadly the scambaiting community is made of mostly minor people, some are extremly childish and stupid and post sex hotlines, McDonalds numbers and sometimes even their own numbers cuz they want to receive prank calls and prank them or whatever. So this is usually the first thing that comes into our mind when we see a number where we can't find evidence for it being a scam. We just have too many bad experiences in this regards so sorry, if we sometimes accidentally assume that people do it on purpose when it's not or just a misunderstanding.
The "go make your own dialer" is harsh but it's somewhat justified. Kenzo created the service and he gets constantly attacked for everything he does. He tried to make BobRTC safer from abuse and thus securing BobRTC's future by implementing 2-Factor-Authentification. He didn't "choose" to make it, it's happening because people abused the system and there have to be countermeasures. Now he's getting attacked for his decision. So some people annoy him and try to "force" or persuade him to do something when it's not their decision and when these people cannot see the whole image of things going on. Kenzo decided for BobRTC to go in this direction to keep himself also safe from legal implications and if people don't like this way it goes, they can say that they don't like it but other than that, they are free to use TextNow, FireRTC, Skype and all the other services that existed prior to BobRTC.
Thanks for the info
