" This Roku call center makes money in so many ways. The company I think it is all tied too is BEKSOL LLC. They seem to sell Roku tv products on amazon.
Upon opening the TV, it says to go to a website and open the code you see on your screen. Then, the website would say "activation error call 8883373512". You would then go and call that number to activate the TV. After calling the number, they would scam you of 99.99. "

Sane experience as the prior comment. The number comes up on a new Roku TV purchased from Amazon. Complete fraud. How Beksol was able to have their number come up on a new TV has to mean the TV manufactuer, TCL in China and BEKSOL have altered the TV software to trap people into calling up and paying a service charge. Very sophiscated fraud - I sent Roku a message, and will also contact Amazon.
Roku call saying need to upgrade service. Or i would loose account and my account was deactivated. I was at work for only a couple hours. my husband was trying to connect last TV with Roku and was having problems?? called the phone number on the tv screen! SCAM/ dont know how they did it but they did
"“I was trying to activate a New Roku soundbar. I was instructed per TV screen “ Roku message to go to a website and enter the code I see on my screen, which I did and a message on the website said “ activation error call 937-340-2711. I was told that as of 03/01/2020, Roku customers had to pay a one time fee of $99.99. Which I did. My Roku account still was not activated. So I looked up tech support and called 833-766-4664 and talked to “John Miller” who said I had been scammed and told me to call my bank and have the 99.99 charges removed. I found out that “ John” was also a scam and hung up.”
