Help & Advice: Finding numbers, what to say?

Hi,

I have wanted to do some scambaiting for a while, I have the stealth VM set up, I am waiting for a bug in BobRTC to be fixed so I can sign up (at the moment I am using a spare mobile phone in the UK to call freephone numbers).

I often search this forum for numbers, but they never work for me, and when they do, I can't tell the scammer what I was doing before the pop up. They just hang up after I say I can't remember (probably know its a scambaiter)

Any advice would be appreciated.

James

Just think up a story,

I guess have a popup ready to read to them, (probably one from this site) and tell them you were watching Youtube, naturally make it something very left field, like Fencing, or Seniors Long jump finals. You just need to think of a personality thats ridiculous, and kind of act and ad-lib a little…

They will often ask you what number you dialed, so read out off dialer.

Best way is try a few different things, I love to make my story long and as ridiculous as I can, if you can get a friend to give you phrases to work in all the better…

Many fun times

I was talking to a call centre yesterday, I got to know Sam, Peter, William quite well. So, well in fact that Sam said I must stay silent now...... I said you have a choice, talk to me or I hang up and call you back...
Either way you can't get rid of me.
After that he opened up to me quite abit... All recorded....

So, when you get a good number stay with it, give them hell, but stay polite, no-one likes abuse, not even scammer scum..

Enjoy.

P.S I’m also very new to this. But love holding these systems up.

You can also watch some YouTube videos or listen to calls from scambaiters. This way you have an understanding of how the scam works and what their script looks like. All the scams are very different.

Just make sure you know what you are doing, NEVER use your real phone number, PC (learn to use a VM) and don't click any links unless intentional.
