CONFIRMED: Friend, Amazon Gift Card Giveaway) I clicked on the link and it took me to this place where I had to put in my email, name and what I did for a living. I am a student currently so I checked that box, then it redirected me to this other site, they gave me a pop up from schools.com that I couldn’t get rid of.
I checked out both companies (M2 Media Group, the website I got redirected to when I clicked on the link in the email) (and Hearst Corporation, the parent company of Runner's World and dozens of other popular magazines.) on the BBB and M2 had a B rating but a 1.3 out of 5 stars with customer reviews. Many of the reviews said that it was a giant identity theft ring. Hearst had a pretty similar story, from what I could tell, their track record was clean when it came to the physical side of business, but the digital side was a little grayer. There were reviews that said the company was wrapped up in a bunch of shady dealings. I'm glad my BS sense was on high alert.
