On February 19, 2026, the Payson Police Department in Arizona arrested 20-year-old Harshdeep Singh and 18-year-old Katrina Gonzales, both from Fresno, California, for their roles as money mules for a Social Security scam, where:
The scammers, from India, would contact their victims under the false personation of government officials to falsely claim to have received evidence of their victim’s identity being stolen.
In order to “protect” their assets, the victims were asked to convert their savings into gold bars and hand them off to “agents” or money mules.
The two were arrested without incident and are booked into the Gila County Jail on suspicion of A.R.S, 13-2310, fraudulent schemes.
Any American involved in crimes like this need the penalties to start at 10-15 years in prison and restitution even if it takes the rest of their lives to pay it back.
Do this to a citizen in their country and they likely could face death. While politicians in other countries could work on meaningful deterrents, instead they work to be as divisive as possible resulting in their useless gridlock.
There were two Nigerians that were extradited to the US after they coaxed a teen in the US to commit suicide through Sextortion. Laughably (not really), the MOST they could have gotten was 30 years each but their village had been bombed so there was pity and they were given ONLY 15 years. The teen had texted " IGFKM" they said go ahead you’re already dead. He then did it. IMO, They need to bring back the guillotine. What’s Ironic and actually really MORONIC these lowlifes will use STOLEN money to bond out and then run. I would be glad if someone passed this on the STUPID judge that allows bond. I would enjoy telling the MORON to his face how stupid he is.
They should turn some of these scammers over to military veterans. I promise to violate every clause of the Geneva Convention and I even have a few ideas of my own for them.
