Grammar thing

So this is a very random indian scammer question. whenever i call places lately, they mostly answer with, for example, “this i Mark” rather than “this is Mark”. i never used to hear this type of grammar used before like 2024 i feel like? does anyone know what the deal with this is?

I suspect they are saying “this side.”

Which I suspect sounds perfectly normal outside of North America.

I often get many who say “ah” very brief/quickly before saying their name. Some are more noticeable than others. I always find that funny… you normally have to pause unconsciously before saying your own name? We all know why they have to pause to remember their fake name but it is still funny to hear them do it in conversation.
