On May 28, 2026, police in Goa, India raided and shut down a “phantom hacker” scam operation facilitated by Milagros Aqua Private Limited from Plot No. 98, Verna Industrial Estate, Goa, India. How their scam worked was:
- The scammers will call their victims under the false personation of representatives of American banks.
- The victims will be asked to “secure” their finances by transferring them through the purchase of gift cards.
26 bhenchods were arrested during the operation, with police also seizing 145 laptops, 45 cell phones and various electronic devices worth an estimated $57,972.75.
