Extra Info: I engage with a gift card scammer. The scam here is to get you to sign up for a “savers” program in return for a $100 voucher that supposedly can be used anywhere. They have changed it slightly. They always say you can use a portion of the voucher and then spend the rest at a different store. Perhaps because of my insistence last week in inquiring how different stores would track usage on a piece of paper (they no longer offer cards…) they now insist the “voucher” must be used in the same store. Of course, my guess is, you’ll never find a store that would honor the thing even if they did send anything. It’s ripe for fraud because they insist you must pay the $1.95 S/H charge (the amount often varies) with your credit card. If you do agree to sign up the for savings program, the experience of others has been the $44.95 monthly charge is very difficult to cancel, indeed, it’s set up for you to say “yes” to get the cancellation good after giving them your CC number once again which would be enough for them to charge you for another monthly charge. I hope this is helpful in giving an idea on how they work.
