Getting Nervous

I’ve been wanting to get into the scam-baiting community for a while, and I’ve tried before.

But whenever I do, I get nervous as all heck.

I really get nervous when talking to people I don't know on the phone, and I don't even know why.

Any tips on how to fix this?

No need to get nervous with indian scammers.

@firef0xx#143529 Fair enough.

@PikaPikaGamer#143526 if you’re nervous chances are it’s because you don’t have all the knowledge you need to go about it an intelligent manner? I have never “scambaited” before because I am brand new to the idea. I am open to trying it but not until I have more knowledge on private networks, virtual machines, and general software pertaining to the process. An online friend I met thru gaming always use to mess with scammers and I never really understood it, he brought me into a couple discord calls and we shared a couple laughs but apart from that I thought it was a childish endeavor and a waste of time to be honest. Now months later after being scammed for $160 dollars I understand it. The reality of doing stuff like this though, is that when you do it without the proper pre-caution, and knowledge you are potentially making yourself vulnerable to a certain extent. You never know who is going to be on the other end of that line at first, and while most of these indian scammers use the same crude methods, there are certainly some highly intelligent ones out there as well too that are well aware of the scambaiting community and their tactics.

@PikaPikaGamer#143526 Just immerse yourself in some alternate personality - use your imagination. It also helps me to have answers to common questions already written down so you can snap them back instantly, which makes you sound even more real. If someone asks your zip code and you hesitate and fumble, then it raises a flag. But if you snap it right back like you have been saying it for years, it sounds way more believable. So I usually have a name, address, phone number and other related info already written down and in front of me when I call. Related info depends on what scammer you are calling… SSA guys will want your SSN, credit card scammers will want CC information like expiration dates and bank info, etc… all easily generated online so you have it ready when needed. Then just use your imagination. They really are fun to play with once you get into it, and can even be challenge to see just how far you can take them, or how bizarre you can make the situation.

I'm also a very shy person(normally lol). I hate talking on the phone with normal companies(like pizza delivery or sth 😅) but with Indian scammers I have no problem. Don't expect yourself perfect from day one, it needs some time to get better.

Here a few things I can recommend you for beginning:

•Watch some scambaiting videos on YouTube and watch how the YouTubers talk to them

•Do some short calls first and maybe swear at the scammers. Then try to waste more and more time

•Understand that the person you talk to is very far away and you never meet them.

i recomend writing down the information for the fake persona your going to use! like the fake social the fake name and date of birth and play along. then when they ask for the numbers pretend to break up as u say them for the greatest lolz

:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: eat a edible :cookie: or:candy:

the thing you have to tell yourself is that it doesn’t matter what these scammers think about you, they don’t know you or your name, they don’t see you, they won’t meet you and they will never hear from you ever again if you want that. You can do what you want, you can sing, abuse, nobody can judge you. No need to feel embarassed or insecure

Usually, I don't sing to anyone but see the call logs that a scammer call center boss sent me during a discussion (whole different story) what I did lol.

I think the suggestions of Botvernichtung are good: listen to some other scambaiters how they do calls, like Ismail Ali or others who stream live calls. Listen how they talk, what they say, how the scam works, what words they use (e.g. never say "popup", say "error message") and then you get used to what to do. If you have some knowledge of that, just jump into the cold water and do some calls. Use BobRTC or TextNow so that you're not calling from your real number and you're good to go.

I tried playing some music softly (well…as softly as AC/DC can be played) in the background while I was on a call today and it helped my nerves. Maybe try some Enya or Michael Bolton and see what happens?

Or better yet...pump some Barry White through the phone and start hitting on him/her uncomfortably. XD XD XD
