Level 3 via Skype, baiting with virtual machine

HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:

  • The scammer will claim you were automatically subscribed to “Geek Squad Antivirus,” and were charged in an auto-renewal, prompting you to “cancel” by going to gl.s24.help (iframe for glback.glize.com). Since the server IP address wasn’t found, I was asked to download AnyDesk. (ID: 1938216307 Password: ref12345)
  • Once the scammer has remote access to your computer, they will have you fill out a “cancellation form” and “log into” your bank account. Since I don’t do online banking, they blanked my screen and hung up before I could even play the Bhenchod song.
