800TollFreeNow, “this side Mark” answered as “Suppoat for the Cancellation Department of McAfee and the Geek Squad” and falsely claimed I was signed up for a “free trial to Geek Squad” when I purchased any Apple or Sony devices.
- In order to “cancel,” I was asked to “open the Google Chrome” and go to bit.ly/GeekREFUND. As the website wasn’t working, “Mark” falsely claimed my Apple computer already had a security plan running and wanted me to then install AnyDesk on my cell phone.
- “Mark” then asked me to run UltraViewer (ID: 80967187/99RDP) to have “their AI Software” go to bit.ly/GeekREFUND and then install “The Google Chrome” to go to bit.ly/GeekREFUND
- I was redirected to GeekSquad® and proceeded to play him the Bhenchod Song. He responded by trying to close out of UltraViewer.
The scam is essentially a repeat of a previously-reported scam
