FTC shuts down educational program telemarketing scheme

Earlier today, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) won a federal lawsuit in the state of Illinois against Day Pacer, LLC, a Utah-based patent search company doing business as EduTrek, LLC, as well as owners Raymond and Ian Fitzgerald and David Cumming, who made fraudulent telemarketing calls to consumers who submitted their contact information on websites promising to help them find jobs or public benefits, even if they are on the Do Not Call registry.
