After getting 17 pop-ups yesterday (a record-high for me), I wasn’t able to get ANY today! Frustrating.
Joe, if you get popups that actually pop up on some site (warez, porn, whatever?), can you please pretty please also report the site on which they pop up ? Increasingly I notice these scammers insist on asking what i did when I got the popup, and if I talk myself out of that, the first thing they do after connecting is check my history to see if I browsed a site where these do actually pop up, and if they dont see it, they often just tell me to reboot my PC and all will be ok.
I was gonna suggest that if your history shows the other ad web pages that appear besides the popups, don’t delete them from your history. Instead, leave them on and come up with the story that matches what you have in your ad history, i.e. “I clicked an ad for ________.” Also, you should leave the history of the popup along with that ad on your history so that it looks legit.
