Found a scammer

I found a scammer online. There was a blue and red popup with a lot of text claiming that my computer had a information leaking worm that led hackers right to my PC. I called them and when they answered, they immediately tried to syskey . Fun. The number was a North Carolina US number, and the guy was definitely American. 1-919-275-5743

Just attempted to call back and they answered but recognized my voice. Anyone else?

So I tried to call back, but nothing’s working now. I guess they’re gone?

I called but it went to a voice mail for “technical support” so that number is still active, they probably have your number flagged or something.

@Bethsands1974#19043 I tried and got the voicemail as well. I looked it up, and it’s late in NC (where the number is), so perhaps the scammer’s asleep?

Yep, this number still gets that guy claiming to offer free tech support for those who fall into a support trap.
