Falsely claims: I inquired about a life insurance quote.
American Broker: Juanita from Senior Life Services
The scammers sent a fraudulent cold call to my PBX line to try to sell me a life insurance plan from their American brokers, Senior Life Services, a BBB-accredited subsidiary of Florida Insurance Services, Inc. that operates out of 2300 3rd Ct, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
User complaints on their Google and BBB listings indicate patterns of fraudulent activity, such as:
- Making soliciting cold calls with spoofed numbers in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Truth and Caller ID Act.
- Requiring potential agents to obtain and pay for reciprocal licenses in multiple states.
- Hiring overseas call centers to harass elderly recipients on their behalf.
- Refusing to maintain an internal do-not-call list.
- Making soliciting cold calls to individuals on the do-not-call registry.
The company was also named in a letter by 28 state attorneys general in response to the freakin’ FCC’s proposal to ban the practice of obtaining a single consumer consent as grounds for delivering unsolicited calls and texts from multiple marketers.
On November 23, 2023, the company was sued for violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act in the Southern District of Florida after the plaintiff, Douglas Belleville, received four telemarketing calls asking for Phyllis Pearson and presenting a busy tone when called back. A settlement was reached on June 14, 2024.
