Called as Geek Squad and said my computer was hacked. One said Microsoft, the other Apple. They were not too happy with what I had to say.

The bhenchod answered and attempted to faciliate a printer technical support scam. I intervened and said I missed a call, and he claimed that I previously received “tech suppoat” from his company, which he identified as Fixgen, LLC.

The company is listed on Bizapedia as operating out of a single-family house in West Covina, California that I was able to trace back to the Virani family via TruePeopleSearch. They falsely claim on their website to be “authorized experts” for HP, Norton, Avast and Malwarebytes.

Given that they appear to be based in Los Angeles County, CA, I filed the complaint against them with Californian authorities. I encourage other folks to do the same. I had decent results from filing complaints with various State government bodies: Consumer Complaint Against A Business/Company | State of California - Department of Justice - Office of the Attorney General

https://fixgenllc.com/hp/ is served as a Google Search ad for the genuine HP setup URL. Advertiser info: https://adstransparency.google.com/advertiser/AR11901836942561509377?origin=ata&region=US

Update: the google ads are still running, but the fake error message page seems to be disabled. The fake HP setup flow now deposits victims at this page https://fixgenllc.co/thank-you/ , where they can chat with an “expert.”
