Hopefully FireRTC does return, it was some idiots that were calling schools and doing other things which caused them to close it so no one could make new accounts. For the moment if you have to, you could use TextNow. Here is the link. https://www.textnow.com/
TextNow is also not really working. I tried to register there multiple times, then it asks me for an area code, then it says they don’t have a number available and log me off. I think they are crowded or something.

I tried multiple area codes. Today I checked again, they don’t offer registration without Google or Facebook login anymore.

Tried to register again, chose 310 as area code, still same error.
