repeats a few times, then goes to busy signal.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:
- The scammer will claim an “attempt of hacking” took place within the past 48 hours, prompting you to “install certain Microsoft Temporary Securities” by running UltraViewer (ID: 90019697) and “connecting to the Microsoft Secure Server.”
- Once the scammer remotely connects to my virtual machine, I was then asked to close the popup and turn on my webcam. Since I don’t have a webcam, they disconnected from my virtual machine and reconnected on a different ID (78001474) before running the camera app.
- Our call was then disconnected, though the scammer was still remotely connected to my virtual machine. I called the toll-free number back and it was shut down by Bandwidth.com.
- The scammers then searched for PornHub, presumably to call back and claim the “hackers” were attempting to SUBSCRIBE TO CHILD PORNOGRAPHY, before I swiftly closed the web browser and played him the Bhenchod Song.
