A vacation scammer from Miami has been busted. Amazingbluevacations.com is still operating. Note the danger described by ignoring calls he believed to be scams. The theft of money is not the primary crime, abuse, deception, and distraction is deadly. It has reached the point of harassment for many Americans.

Here is a great new podcast. I have discussed in several posts how legit businesses are capable of bad or illegal practices. Why is this? Why does it appear that the FTC is castrated? Listen to episode 7 and you will hear the story of how a multi-level marketing business won in court. How their political power goes right to the top, even today, with the current secretary of education.
This is not a direct link to phone scams, but an explanation of why FTC is unable to reign in scams of all sorts. The checks and balances of the 3 branches have been compromised... not really news,,, but when judges, law enforcement, and lawmakers in the same boat. No change will happen. Note one of the biggest bases for these sorts of companies is Utah and who their senator-elect is.

Email scammers crossed the line today. Several bomb threats made in the USA via email. What has mostly been ignored and considered harmless is now having real world implications. Email and phone scams are 2 fronts operated by the same industry as we know the phone is not really the phone, but VOIP. The freedom of our communications is being threatened by industries founded on abuse and supported by corruption.

The threats were taken seriously and law enforcement responded. It was waste of resources and endangers people who need services. We cannot allow this to continue.
Here is a great article on MLMs and how they operate within the law. Just because it is legal does not mean it is not a scam. Civil action can be taken, but it takes money (for victim) to bring the case to court. And the company can defend itself legally and with settlements, to them the legal expenses are considered the cost of doing business. The owners even shrug it off say "all big companies deal with lawsuits." Keep in mind the other scammers who profit over this nonsense: lawyers.
