Fake Windows etc. Support 833-741-5316

Scam Number: 833-741-5316
Scammer’s Website or Email: https://helpteck.com/
Additional information about this scam:

I was looking for information on the other scam group(s) that I’ve been obsessing about lately. Found a “business address” which, as usual, is a seemingly random residential address in California.

Visiting the website https://helpteck.com/, there is a web chat widget, and the person on the other end claims to be “Nancy from Printer Support,” with a toll-free number.

I call the number and who answers? “Thank you for calling Windows, this is Sean, how may I help you?”

Sean’s favorite color is red.

The second one has a defunct website, itsupport.net.in. Looking it up in the Internet Archive yielded the street address in CA that it shares with the printer/Windows/whatever support this is.

Surprise, surprise: sharing the same business address is a travel agency.

https://www.travtask.com/

Searching for their toll free number reveals the usual sort of misleading, airline-impersonating SEO crap we all know and love.

Hey Team,

We are reaching out to address a pressing issue that requires your immediate attention. A false and damaging post has surfaced on Scammers.info, leveling baseless accusations against Travtask, our esteemed travel agency. The post claims misleading practices and involvement in airline impersonation.

:link: [Link to the post on Scammers.info: Fake Windows etc. Support 833-741-5316 - #4 by ElmerFudde2020]

These allegations not only lack merit but also pose a severe threat to the reputation and integrity of Travtask. We want to clarify that Travtask is dedicated solely to delivering exceptional travel experiences, and any assertions suggesting otherwise are wholly unfounded.

In addition to this, we have become aware of the misuse of our address in contexts unrelated to our business operations. This misinformation not only damages our reputation but also jeopardizes our relationships with clients and partners.

Immediate Action Required: To the individual responsible for the post, we kindly request a thorough review of the information shared. We implore you to recognize the consequences of spreading false information and urgently remove the post from Scammers.info to prevent further harm.

Legal Consequences: Falsely accusing a business of deceptive practices is a grave matter, and Travtask is fully prepared to take legal action to safeguard its reputation and the livelihoods of its dedicated team. Defamation through false allegations is not acceptable, and we are committed to pursuing all available legal remedies.

For further verification, please provide us the following information:

  1. registered company name in India
  2. Name and aadhaar card of the director of the company
  3. OSP DOT license to run a call center in India

As soon as we receive the information, either here in the forum or via [email protected], we can conduct our investigation and check the matter in detail.

Dear @NeeP,

Thank you for acknowledging our removal request, and we appreciate your diligence in handling this matter. We understand the need for verification and are committed to providing the necessary information for your investigation.

However, it’s important to clarify that Travtask is a travel agency, not a call center. We are an IATA accredited agency, and our operations are focused on providing exceptional travel experiences to our clients. As such, we do not hold an OSP DOT license to run the operations in India, as it is not applicable to our business model.

Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to the last notice issued by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Order No. 18-8/2020-CS-1, duly rolled out by Mr. Ajay Negi, Director General - DoT. According to this notice, for new registrations, Chapter - 1, Point # 1 clearly states that “The distinction between international OSPs and domestic OSPs has been removed, and no registration will be required for OSP centres in India.” (Copy of the notice will be enclosed in the email to [email protected] shortly along with any other required details)

Considering this official directive, we would like to reiterate that an OSP DOT license for our type of operations is no longer required as per the recent policy changes.

We are more than willing to cooperate and provide any relevant information regarding our business operations.

Thank you for your understanding and prompt attention to this matter.

Best Regards,
Team Travtask

@NeeP To be frank, I don’t really see anything damaging or accusatory with the post. Only that he was suspicious. Just my take.

@Jhawk You are linking my agency with a running scam and you don’t find that damaging or accusatory. That damages the agency image, anyways I have shared the required documentation and always ready to co-operate.

@travtask I didn’t link anyone nor anybody! The poster said he was suspicious and in today’s world, it’s probably the wise thing to be. We deal with hundreds of scam/theft attempts every day and, unfortunately, your industry is rife with fraud attempts. Caution & suspicion when not dealing directly with an airline or in person with a travel agent is natural. Sorry, but that’s the reality.

@Jhawk I appreciate your diligence however it’s crucial to check before naming someone. It takes years to make your name and seconds to destroy it.

Anyways, as a Travel agency, our scope of services extends beyond airlines. We offer a comprehensive range of travel options, including holiday packages, cruises, car rentals, and various other services.

I did notice that while examining your site and, at least on the surface, seems legit and a very nicely put together website. I’m just saying that the perception, when not actually knowing whom you’re dealing with, is one of suspicion.

Guess who else is at the same “business address”:

A student loan debt relief company. Note the reviews.

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence!

595 Bluffs Drive must be a really busy house, with all these businesses there.

Surely, it is just a coincidence.

Coincidentally named, I’m sure, like the official service from Intuit/Quickbooks

Other businesses, a tech support company

https://compsquadllc.com/

and a “web development” company

https://panglobaltechnologies.com/

Also, an owner/operator trucking company with one rig.

Apply your common sense, why would someone abuse their own address. It’s just that someone has picked this address and they are abusing it. Anyways we have submitted our documents to your admin.

You can randomly call on our reservation desk and can check if we impersonate airlines or not. I can’t waste my energy here anymore. If you have made up your mind not to remove it from here, I’ll rather take a legal route to proof that we don’t have any link and request the removal.

Thanks,

We have issued notice to companies using our address and in case of no change will take legal action against them

It’s strange that if those companies are “using” your address, they are also “using” the same person to represent them there. Panglobal Technologies LLC, Acroprocessor LLC and TravTask are all apparently represented by one Shaminder Kler.

Did he write those “cease and desist” emails to himself?
