Fake visa/mastercard

1 800 762 2265. To be fair, I’m only about 90% sure this is a scam, but they hung up on me mid-call, which I doubt is standard practice for a legitimate business.

This is a legitimate number from some sort of bank. They probably just spoofed their number.

@ajitsenpai#139123 I checked it out and it is not a scammer. How I was able to determine it:

  • 1.

I did a carrier lookup on the phone number. The carrier is “Verizon Business” and it’s 1 in a million that a scammer uses Verizon for scamming with. Scammers tend to use disposable phone numbers obtained from Onvoy/Inteliquent, Vonage, Grasshopper, Bandwidth, etc.

I Googled the phone number and it appear's on PNC's official website and PNC is a legitimate company.

  • However, I do see that many scammers do like to spoof that particular caller ID so as to trick potential victims into thinking that it's a legitimate inbound call.

    Hope that helps!!
