Fake SSA Inbound Call - 1-800-836-2062

I deliberately called a non-toll-free SSA scam phone number from a post yesterday while I was going through ones pending verification. I ended up talking to the man for quite some time, explaining I had received a frightening message on my answering machine (even though I hadn’t). It’s a long story, but the call concluded with him saying the local police were on their way to my house…

Anyways, just a few minutes ago I received an inbound call at 11:57 CST from a toll-free phone number stating that I need to speak to an agent urgently regarding an allegation against me. Keep in mind I have never received an inbound call from a fake SSA department, so I strongly feel as though I have been added to their outbound calling list.

So, the outbound phone number they called from (which was the same one they instructed me to call back) actually works: **1-800-836-2062**. I personally haven't seen a fake IRS or SSA scam use a toll-free phone number in awhile, but this is very good for us.
