Fake printer support scammer at activatemykey.live 877-424-1312

Scam Number: unknown 877-424-1312
Scammer’s Website or Email: Error
Additional information about this scam: the link above is the typical fake HP “Fatal error” driver installation page with JivoChat web-chat to connect to a scammer. I have not yet been able to get a phone number out of them but it’s off hours so maybe other users here at other times will have better luck.

A Google search ad for a query consisting of the URL for the genuine HP setup website directed me to https://antivirusprofessionals.online/product/hp-all-in-one-wireless-color-inkjet-printer-print-copy-scan-wireless-usb-connectivity-mobile-printing-with-neego-6-feet-printer-cable-grey.html , which redirects to the driver installation charade on activatemykey.live . On the same IP address as activatemykey.live are many suspicious-looking domain names. See 199.192.23.148 - bgp.he.net .

Scam website is still running, with a new Google advertiser Jay Shankar Singh https://adstransparency.google.com/advertiser/AR17577559945606332417?origin=ata&region=US , linking to the intermediate website HP Printers - Easy to install setup & print , which links back to activatemykey.live.

And now we have a number! 877-424-1312. John Woozey from HP Support says his favorite color is white. He insists that there is no such thing as the HP Printer Song and refuses to sing it for the verification purposes. He wants me to download AnyDesk when I am near to the Computer.

Update: I called back and John did play a bit of MIDI Mozart, but he didn’t sing the Printer Song lyrics. Now he won’t answer when I call.

Called this number, denied he’s HP suppoat LOL
