Goes to download Reimage Plus, a rogue antivirus software

@MattG20#65766

Thank you so much for the information. I remember these guys from 10 years ago, when they were using the same scam tactics as they did when I called them tonight, including the use of Event Viewer and Stopped Services.

They actually run 2 scam operations.

The first one is just as you posted. The link goes to a rogue program called Reimage Plus, which is a fake scanner that doesn't actually clean or scan for viruses. Not to mention was detected by the Microsoft Malicious Removal Tool that the scammer ran on my computer tonight.

Secondly, they use hijacked ads on a lot of legitimate websites that essentially generates pop ups claiming to be from Microsoft or Apple, that your computer is damaged and you must call the number on your screen provided.

In this case, they operate under the company called: https://softwillinfotech.in/

While I was wasting their time, during the scan that they were doing on my system with the Microsoft Malicious Removal Tool, I decided to play back my video recording to ensure that everything was in fact being recorded properly and to my glance, I noticed the scammer accidentally dropped a victims full contact information on my computer and immediately deleted it in half a second.

The victim was in fact already charged $200; however, I managed to get in touch with them and assisted them in doing a charge back on their credit card.

I highly recommend that everyone calls them up and wastes their time as much as possible. Nothing good will ever come out of them.

Their phone number from the ReImage PC Repair (rogue) Software is as follows: 1-855-984-9502.

The phone number provided by their website at softwillinfotech.in is as follows: 1-888-495-6142.

Hope this information helps.
