Fake pay pal flood
I am on it now! 5:36 PM Central Wow, now 808-556-6438 is about a Walmart gift card as when I called it had an automated spiel about Walmart Gift Card. A man answered after the automated spiel and I spent a little time with him on his personal “Walmart Gift Card” spiel, and then I asked him what happened to the Pay Pal spiel that this phone number was giving 30 minutes ago. He then turned nasty, we exchanged “pleasantries” for a bit, and he hung up.
THEN just a minute or so later on the same TextNow number that I used to call for the first time this 808-556-6438 number, I received a call from (845) 478-0381 and a man with a foreign accent asked me if I had a Target Gift Card! I said “No, I have a Walmart gift card.” He asked, “How many gift cards do you have?” My wifi connection for TextNow was lost though at this point and the call hung up. Haha I called it from my unknown number voip phone and it went to a TextNow message machine. So (845) 478-0381 is a TEXT NOW number. Wait, he texted back “What happened” to my TextNow number … I am calling again his TEXT NOW 845-478-0381 from my TextNow #, and the same guy answered and he said “Nothing … nevermind.”
Now nobody answers the 808-556-6438 OR the TextNow 845-478-0381 that has the generic TextNow voicemail greeting.
The 808-556-6438 did not go to any message machine though … it just rings quite a few times and then hangs up with no message machine option.
When I call the number it instantly hangs up… Not sure why.
I tried today, 02-Jun-2021, and also I did not get through. I was speaking to DJ in the Mosh Pit yesterday evening and we were alone, and I asked him why the one phone number was PayPal scam and then at 6 PM Central it changed to Gift Card scam. I asked him if they just decided to change their scam? He said that some phone numbers can be bought buy more than one company/person, and it is like a time share condo. One outfit, in this case the PayPal scammers, pay money to use the phone number for a certain number of hours and the next outfit, in this case Gift Card scammers, pay money to use the phone for a certain number of hours. I had not heard that before or run across it when I have been calling scammers.
