My father was trying to install a Microsoft update on his computer, and he literally lost everything. He is a private investigator (old school) PI that only uses cameras and very little computer software, but he still needs to email videos to his clients. He isn’t knowledgeable on what’s a legitimate tech support and what’s not. I wished he asked me ahead of time because I’ve been scambaiting for the past several months and know what’s legitimate and what’s not. My father is pissed because they saw and took information that they weren’t supposed to see or take. They got our IP address as well and used logmein. They even took his credit card information! This is an Indian tech support scammer company that uses Microsoft and spoofed their caller ID to appear as Microsoft. Waste the hell of their time because they wasted three hours of his.
