Interesting. Called the number and said I needed help with Windows 11 (which I have in a VB) Guy gave the correct answers with no attempt to connect to my machine. Bizarre.
After appearing to be legit, they called me back and want to sell antivirus software for Windows 11. On wsith them now.
I was talking with a really nice guy that had me run an MRT command or something and was warning me about trying to download free movies (how I claimed to see the popup) and I lasted about 15 minutes (mostly because of how awful my internet connection was so I wasn’t able to even download Ultraviewer) so I started yelling at him and telling him off and he was just like “Sir…sir” not even fighting back. I’m feeling bad that it might have been legit, although he did say he was in Washington and it’s a California number. I’d feel really bad if I said what I said to an innocent person. I said some really mean things.
