I hardly ever use Microsoft Edge, but I fire it up occasionally because that is easier than disabling my adblicking and privacy extensions for Chrome.
I just happened to click thru one of the stories in the Microsoft Edge load page, and before I reached the end, one of the ads must have contained code to redirect the entire page to a scam site.
