@drwat#63205 Well apparently if you say they are “Saburi TLC” they get really nervous and put you on mute. When I stated the address, he said no, that’s not where hes at. I asked to speak with Anuj, and he played dumb, not knowing who that was.
EDIT: Regardless of my caller ID, they no longer are speaking on the phone. They pick up and the call is immediately is put on mute. I think the person who answered the calls each time is scared.
My favorite part of that “article” - yep, they didnt do a popup this time. The entire page said my “McAfee services were expired”, AND the technician even asked me without being prompted if my services were expired. They knew the scam was already going on.
From the article
***The INO article claims that "A tech support scam begins by planting a pop-up message in the target user's web browser that alerts them to a so-called virus infection, employees and experts say."
Facts
TLC does NOT, directly or indirectly, install pop-ups on customers' systems. 100% of our calls originate from software products marketed by our partners and downloaded only by consent of the consumer. We simply do not employ illegal pop-ups, and INO has provided no proof otherwise, but instead leads the unknowing reader to assume it is so.
There are many rogue centres operating in India and other countries that survive off covertly installed pop-up calls, which are the scourge of the Premium Tech Support (PTS) industry. TLC is not one of these centres.***
