Fake cable upgrade scam

This is the typical TV scam where they tell you they need to update the firmware of your cable box. They were asking for $190.19 to be mailed as a check to the address listed above.

What cable company were they impersonating?

They will ask you to grab your tv remote and tell you the brand on it so they know what company to impersonate. For the persona I used, I pretended to have Xfinity/Comcast.

It seems when you call this number now, they are doing some promotional scam where they tell you they will give you a gift card but you have to pay a fee of $4.99 to get it. Which is done through a creditcard.
