Facebook Scam via SMS (Txt Message)

A scammer impersonated my mom on Facebook so I took it from there. Here is the information I got:

Scammer fake name: Griego C Lee. (Claims to be female.)
Phone Number: 954-418-2089
Email: [email protected]
IP Address: 209.85.220.41 and 209.85.220.65 (Both come back as Honolulu, Hawaii. So most likely a VPN.)
They claim to be with the Federal Workers Appeal Board Management.
They only talk via text message and claim it is their policy.
They ask the victim for name, if you've played the lottery (Why did they ask for this?), disabilities, and address.
They claim the government is handing out free grant money of $100,000 to $500,000.

I sent an email with IP logger link, I’ll advise if they click it and IP

LMAO, he emailed me requesting a bunch of info for grant application.

I added another tracking link disguised as a freegiftcard, the link leads to this picture:

Hehe. He’s angry and apparently his lawyer is going to send me a “notice”. Hahaha. To the fake address that doesn’t even exist. Hahahaha. LMAO!

Awesome outcome from this one

The brilliant scammer sent me picture of a stolen expired drivers license and pretended to be the person. I was able to contact the person and let her know her identity had been stolen. We talked on the phone and she was very happy anx relieved to know that people like us are doing what we can to make the world a safer place. Score one for the good guys!
