Scammer will send random friend requests to users on Facebook. Once accepted, they will ask how life’s treating you, where you live, and if you’ve heard about the “ongoing program over there.”

This “program” is an “international monetary fund grant award” they claim is donated by Facebook themselves. They will try to get you to “sign up” for this “cash fund” by contacting their “online claim agent”

This “agent” will introduce themselves as “Williams Israel Dickson, the online coordinator of Facebook and the International Monetary Fund at Headquarter in USA.” They will ask for your name, country before checking if your name is still valid in their “winner’s list”

After a while, they will claim you “won $50,000” from a “raffle” made at their “headquarters.” Unfortunately, I had to step out for a brief grocery run at that time and, later, experience issues with my WiFi connection, but they were kind enough to wait patiently.

Users will then be asked to complete a “security form” by providing your name, home address, phone number, birthday, occupation and email address. In response, I sent a grabify link to a fake linktree that was accessed from 2 different IP addresses, both belonging to a VPN/proxy server.
