On October 20, 2025, Nassau County Police in NewYork arrested 44-year-old Chinese national Enyi Chen for serving as a money mule for a technical support scam operation, where:
- The scammers will create fake popups to trick their victims, in this case a 64-year-old man, into thinking their iPad was compromised.
- The victim will be asked to withdraw over $121,000 from their bank account and hand it off to designated couriers, or money mules.
Chen was arrested on charges of 3rd-degree grand larceny and resisting arrest, but given an appearance ticket. Luckily, he is now under the custody of U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after having entered the country illegally, so I HOPE HE ENJOYS GAUTMO!
