"Employee Retention Program" +1 (855) 333-4808

Scam Number: 1-855-333-4808

Extra Info:
Call was blocked and sent to voice mail by T-mobile. I don’t know if it is necessarily a scam, but it is a robocall and I am not an employer so there is no reason for this call.

Can you explain what happened? Did the number leave a text, a voicemail or something - If so, what did they say?

I called and asked them if they use robocalling, or cold calling. The man I talked to said they didn’t use either. He said it’s a program setup to help employers who have saw declining revenue due to COVID-19, or something along those lines. Robocalling also isn’t indicative of a service being a scam

Yes it was a voicemail.

Here is my transcription:

…(robocall script started before recording) and I’m not sure if you’ve spoken to an assigned agent regarding the Employee Retention Credit Program, um but I do see your pre-approval for up to $26,000 per W-2 employee under the CARES act with no repayment necessary, So I’m just gonna go ahead and keep this in pending status for you. If you have about 5 minutes for me today, give me a call back and I can go over the details with you as well as the benefits, um just in case my phone number is 855 333 4808. So I hope to hear from you soon and have a great day!

The Caller ID says it is from 925 217 6652 but I’m sure that is spoofed.

Except I’m not an employer, and the call was a scripted message. T-Mobile flagged it as spam so it went straight to voicemail. There was no pre-existing connection so it was at the very least a cold call, with a spoofed caller ID.

I’ll call that 925 number, and see what happens

Carrier Alert

CERTAIN it’s NOT spoofed… Look at carrier.
I’m also certain myself, this is a typical scam.

Yup. It’s the same program saying it’s under the CARES Act, a program for employers that lost revenue due to COVID-19.

OK so maybe not a scam, just a middleman that wants a slice of the 26k and is willing to cold call businesses in hopes of a hit?

Sounds highly probable, though they won’t admit to using cold calling.

called it and some like american guy picked up lol i hung up

Welcome! @theawesomegamer

thanks

Got another call from these bottom feeders. Callback number is now 1-877-373-1440. Prerecorded call, definitely violating the TCPA since I did not contact them, I am on the do not call list, and I am not an employer. Caller ID shows 1-947-203-6539 as the incoming number.

I receive on my VOIP home phone these Employee Retention unsolicited phone calls several times a day nearly every day, from a variety of non-toll free area codes; and usually on the caller ID when I receive the call it shows “FreeSwitch” and I think but am not positive that this FreeSwitch is there provider for these phone numbers.

Sometimes I answer and it is the robo spiel about Employee Retention Credit or whatever. I have never had any employees in my life. Also I am on the federal Do Not Call List.

At least some of these calls are spoofed I think, for usually when I call them back from my TextNow just a few hours after receiving their call it says their number that called me is no longer in service or not a working number.

Other times when I call back, I might get the robo spiel about Employee Retention Credit.

These folks are like Synergy Finance in the sense that it seems impossible to keep up with their constantly changing phone numbers and it seems impossible to stop them. Also it seems that some of these types of scams might be working within America.

Along with these numerous calls about Employee Retention Credit, I am getting slammed with calls about COVID CREDIT stuff and also about EMPLOYER LOANS TO EMPLOYERS of at least however many people.

Deplorable criminals …

1-877-373-1440 — I just now called from my TextNow number but after only one full ring the thing pops up from within TextNow that says “User Busy” and when I press the “Call Back” button rather than the “Cancel” button from within TextNow it just rings once again and shows again the “Call Back” and “Cancel” options to press.

These expletive Employee Retention criminals are infuriating.
