Additional information about this scam: I run an e-commerce website I recently received an email regarding my website and how the scammers advertising agency service could help. I was hesitant at first but followed along. Everything was going smoothly the whole time though it sounded too good to be true. The scammer claimed that they have been around for 8 years I did a domain website age check and it was 8 months. That was the first thing that threw me off. After a little bit more digging and their social media profiles were all basically dead and had little to no reviews for a big company as his. He then proceeded to send me an invoice asking for two payments of $500 using two different payment methods in case one “doesn’t work”. The original package price is $500 so he wouldn’t scam me for $1,000. I obviously didn’t pay and ended up blocking the scammer. I’ll leave the conversation or part of it below. The funny thing is he tried so hard to cover his accent by claiming to be Canadian I looked up the address on their website and it’s someone’s home while it sounds like he’s in a call center.
