@ecosoftware That 844-766-9044 was our number

If I may ask how long have you owned, or did own this phone number, when about was it acquired by your company?

This was the toll-free Bandwidth number used to impersonate Microsoft.

Enough with the addresses, even if you prove they lied about the address, so what?

If the next replies arenā€™t verifiable proof they are a scamming, committing fraud, misrepresenting themselves, etc, I might close the thread until something concrete pops up.

I am getting severe second hand embarrassment from reading this thread, even from Ecosoftware, I get you are upset your business is listed on this website, but we have proper channels for you to go through and talk to admins and/or moderators about it.

Something Iā€™d like to bring up, if the number 844-766-9044 was owned by EcoSoft before the date of 17th August 2023 then their telecommunications provider did an extensive investigation into this number and suspended it.

ā€œUpon an extensive investigation, the account associated with the reported number 8447669044 was closed. The phone number itself was released and may be taken by other customers in the future.ā€

I did run their website through the Wayback Machine, and it appears the (844) number was in operation on March 30, 2023. However, the same link is also used for their December 17, 2022 snapshot.

I have called the number listed and your representative scammed me. Iā€™m busy with day-time work but Iā€™ll upload it as evidence in the coming days. You have admitted to it already via email.

Feel free to send your lawyer, Iā€™ll send him the video back

Thats is what i am saying. There is no evidence that our company is working on popup or any security warning scams. Still those people are just keep posting and saying scam.

I have gone through the recording also and i did not found that the executive said that he is from microsoft, however his urge to get his first sale might drove him to say what he said but he did not said that we are Microsoft at any point of time.
If you want to do the legal resolution that would be fine.
But as a leader you should bring down scams which is still there not some small legitimate companies.

You and your team called multiple times, you were told that we are not Microsoft and any popup messages that you have on your screen is not legit, simply restart your computer and clear your browsing history and it will be fixed automatically. I hope you have a video for that too.

While it is true that we are unable to find evidence that links you to any of the tech support popups we come across, itā€™s important to realize that Microsoft impersonators may also find victims through fraudulent advertising, which is what @numberkings specializes in.

The same also holds through for the toll-free numbers listed on the tech support popups. Every time I call to verify, the scammers will simply pick up as ā€œsupportā€ instead of the company theyā€™re impersonating in an attempt to seem more legitimate. The same thing also applies to the scammers @numberkings reported for impersonating other companies, such as Amazon or PayPal.

Iā€™ve even come across some scammers who will simply hang up and not provide the name of the company theyā€™re impersonating, but I will still go as far as to verify the numbers and report them to the appropriate carriers.

@NeeP is a veteran scambaiter with a proven track record of researching, investigating and taking down scammers across the globe. If he claims to have recorded evidence that someone from your company attempted to scam him, I have to take his word for it!

this seems to be the scammerā€™s new defense. The Zelle/Chime/Robinhood scammers are trying to claim they are a legitimate 3rd party service - oh, and they claim that they are being extorted for gift cards - no evidence of course.

Using logos or stylized word-marks of a companyā€™s registered trademark while posing as support for said companies, WITHOUT AN EXPRESS LICENSE, is deceptive and trademark infringement. The use of logos or stylized word marks is NOT covered under fair use, they would need a license from Microsoft, which Iā€™m sure theyā€™ll provide momentarily . . . (Zelle spells this out specifically on their website, Iā€™m sure so to does Microsoft)

What an insight you have provided on the topic. But our business has nothing to do with zelle or any type of other scams. We donā€™t need any other licenses from any other companies as we are working independently. That too from last 2 years.

I know what you guys are doing and that is fine. But in order to shut the scams down you can not shut the legitimate companies down too.
You can say impersonating if any of executives would have said that we are Microsoft support or anything like that. But we never said that, even things are mentioned clearly on our website too that we are independent company.
