Because I go to work so early and return so late I usually miss prime time to call Travel and Gift Card scammers. As a result, I started BobRTC call flooding.
Over a short period I realized that this drives the scammers crazy. I monitor scammers as multiple BobRTC browser tabs each call the same number 50 times. I heard scammers literally crying when they again answer another CallBot that is not going to talk to them but will immediately redial that scammer number as soon as the scammer hangs up. I've also heard scammers beg for the phone calls to stop.
To add to scammer frustration, I use a voice changer and select a random answering scammer to make them think a kid is the cause of their phone misery.
Recently, I added the capability to VPN/RDP into my dedicated ScamBaiting laptop from anywhere. The result is that the selected scammer is targeted from the time I leave home (4:00 am) to the time I go to bed (11:00 pm).
I still try to torment the Travel, Gift Card, and SSAN scammers but it seems harder to contact them recently.
Hopefully, the ScamBaiting community will continue to grow. The support for the cause is growing and appreciated.
