So i started scambaiting recently, alot of these people ask me about my age (i am 12) so does my age matter? or is it better the younger i am? since they will underestimate me cause i am young…
Anyways tell me what you think, age matters to scambait or not?
I played scared 10 years old and they’ve wanted my parents credit card, so I get fake numbers and then he wanted to syskey me, but I already put syskey in case they wanted to do syskey xD
@SeventhCube2832#23893 Huh That’s interesting! nobody will belive that i am “18” or else i sound like some serious bloomer or something (i am 12 if you forgot) but i will make some excuse/lie which is gonna be something like this : “This is actually my dad’s computer but he only really uses it for shopping, and he mostly is at work” these scammers aren’t too smart, if they hear “shopping” and "credit card’ they are on to ya, also these people think i am a dumb kid but i’m just scambaiting them xD
@RaptorHDHQ#23951 Hello what i’ve seen scammers do is that they confuse kids with woman, they think they are more generally dumb so it’s sometimes funnier to scam them that way.
@RelatedTitle#24028 Exactly! they sometimes confuse me of being a girl cause i haven’t hit puberty xD and also they actuallly do think we are dumb just cause we are “kids”
And now, scammers are asking you to buy gift cards and GreenDot MoneyPak as they are untraceable, so after a scammer steals your money, there is no way to get a refund back.
I remember when a scammer said they are in contract with Google, as asked me to buy a $150 Google Play gift card. I said that I already have a $200 Xbox gift card at home and asked if I could use it, and the scammer replied back, "NoNoNo, unfortunately, our policy does not accept any payments other than Google Play gift cards". I replied back, "But aren't you Microsoft? You own Xbox, right?". But the scammer just ignores and just continues about saying about their policy. I then asked if I could use my credit card instead, saying that I live in a very rural area that the closest store is 3 miles away and that I don't have a car. And then the scammer says that I could ride an Uber and that he will pay for me. Later, he just hung up and blocked my number.
To answer: They care about how Young you are not how Old you are. As Markiemm said, they use it as a way to see if you have a credit card or not.
Some hang up immidiatly or say wrong number & some others go along with it and ask normally if you have one. For me, I say that I have this special kind of debit card linked with my parents on (something like GoHenery in the UK) & they usually fall for that.
