Brief Synopsis: I was called from an obvious spoofed DirecTv number. They asked me if my DirecTv was working properly and I fibbed and said it was (I don’t have a DTV subscription currently). They went through their whole spiel. I didn’t have to provide any personal information or anything of the sort. This was just a cold call. They told me I qualified for their new promotion where I would get an instant upgrade of all the great channels (movie, sports, all the bells and whistles) for $62.50 a month. I said that sounded great. The scammer than transferred me to a different department. This was the “Finance department”. This is where I knew it was for sure a scam. I wasn’t 100% for sure so I was holding out. This person explained to me that Amazon was partnering with ATT/DTV in promoting their gift cards for their service. Because of that, I would get the first 4 months of service for $250 (4 months times 62.50). I just needed to go to a Walgreens…etc… I haven’t called them back yet, but I figured I would post it on here for anyone who wants to. Happy Scambaiting.
