On February 20, 2025, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Farmington, Maine arrested Massachusets residents Dev Patel (19) and Love Patel (24) for posing as employees from the United States Department of Justice and defrauding a Rangely Plantation woman out of $40,000 by demanding she pay as part of their “investigation.” The two were arrested as they attempted to demand an additional $32,000 and have been charged with Class C theft by deception.

It’s interesting that the people who defend these scammers always say “The don’t have any other options. They live in a poor country with lots of poverty.”
- India has a lower unemployment rate than the United States.
- India has a much lower poverty rate than the United States.
- A dozen or more Indian people Have been arrested this month alone, for scamming while they are here in the United States.
There is no justification for scamming and hurting innocent human beings

Hopefully these imported scammers go to prison in the US and learn that Big Bubba was bigger. I have no mercy for them when they only come here to steal. I would prefer that their cellmate beat them to death but prison brides will have to do.

As far as scamming operations are concerned, it is almost always the culprits of the following descent:
- Indians
- Pakistanis
- Filipinos
- Jamaicans
Amusingly and interestingly, these countries are considered our “allies”. With allies like this, who needs enemies? It is time to put our nation first and stop all the nonsense “help” to this scum. The funds must be used to strengthen our nation and people: infrastructural improvements, R&D investments, tax system overhaul, government inefficiencies and so many other great ways to use this wasted money come to mind.
We also should stop all the H1B visas, asylum visas, F1 OPT and other idiocy aimed at attracting the world’s hoodlums.

I don’t think they are. I believe that most Americans don’t fully understand that people this evil exist. They simply aren’t used to a culture where begging, steeling, lack of any moral barometer or empathy and narcissism is the norm.
I suppose it’s our life experiences that most folks go by, they are busy working and trying to feed their families and pay the rent and the utilities.
I do a fair amount with electronics but I don’t necessarily believe that folks who don’t know ohms law are stupid, or that people who don’t know basic automotive repair are necessarily stupid either. I mean people can just Google that too. Heck, most people don’t replace their own brakes or even do their own oil changes- they put their trust someone else to do it who claims to be an expert in the field.

I agree somewhat. But all the info is out there. My neighbor has been scammed multiple times. Romance scam and pig butchering scam and solar scam and a website scam. He just keeps falling for it. He is dumb.

I literally just got off the phone with a Jamaican scammer that said they do it for revenge because our ancestors enslaved them. Any excuse to be a lazy POS.

They always forget that their own people captured them and then sold them into slavery for beads and cloth. Oh, and they still are to this day. There are still slave markets in Africa.

Not to mention the Arab slave trade (of whites).
We ended slavery a long time ago (See the emancipation proclamation) yet slavery is still alive and well in Africa (and others) today.
So, if we are going to justify our bad behavior because things in the past, does that mean that we should scam Japanese people because of Pearl Harbor?

Yes, I agree 100%. For instance, many Indians are still infuriated about the somewhat mythological and exaggerated “British colonialism and its negative legacy and injustices”. With that said, they are primarily scamming the AMERICANS, Canadians and even Australians (albeit to a lesser extent). So, somehow these 3 nations are responsible for the behaviors of British royalty? By that logic, we might as well hold the Czechs accountable for the crimes committed by Ukrainian Nazi sympathizers and Waffen SS units during WWII. Why not? Both are Slavic nations located in the close geographic proximity and share some similarities in language
