Dehradun Police RAIDS,. shuts down Global Tech Energy Solutions

On August 8, 2024, police in Dehradun conducted a raid against an illegal call center in Rajpur for facilitating a tech support scam operation under the business identity of Global Tech Energy Solutions. Americans and Candians were duped with fraudulent cold calls made under the guise of the “International Anti-Hacking Agency” so they can falsely claim the victims’ computers were hacked in order to charge them a fee for “repairs.”

The scammers also used popups sent by another team in the United States who keeps track of the monetary transactions. The scammers use a variety of applications, including:

  • QuickAssist
  • LogMeIn123 (support.me)
  • GoShare
  • Tinyurl
  • Eyebeam
  • Asia One
  • 2 Line
  • Talkatone

8 individuals were detained during the operation:

  • Mihir Ashwin Bhai Patel - Director from Ahmedabad
  • Lalit alias Rodi - Director from Ahmedabad
  • Amir Suhail - Resident of Kolkata
  • Manoj Mirpuri - Resident of Pune
  • Ankit Singh - Resident of Bihar
  • Kaushik Jana - Resident of West Bengal
  • Shivam Dubey - Resident of Ahmedabad
  • Goswami Hed Bharti - Resident of Bhavnagar, Gujarat

81 laptops, 42 mobile phones, 106 laptop charges, 126 mice, 29 desktop computers, 100 headphones, 32 keyboards, 26 CPUs, 5 WiFi routers and a Mahindra Thar were seized during the raid.
