Additional information about this scam: It’s our favorite and the usual Microsoft scam. Stumbled on this when looking for pages like this.

She eventually used www.ultraviewer.net
She answered as Christina (spelling?) at Technical Support. I asked if the technical support is for Microsoft. She said YES. Her foreign accent is not bad. I could understand her easily. She asked how she could help me.
I got a Windows Defender popup about some virus.
What device am I using? I have a 2002 Dell Desktop computer tower with an attached monitor and an external keyboard and external mouse that has Windows XP operating system. I long ago got rid of that computer of course but I was telling her how it is still going strong and that the 40 gig hardrive has not stopped working! She finally steered the conversation away from my meandering praise of this old desktop computer and how I love Windows XP and how I adamantly REFUSE to go to these more modern Windows operating systems!
She asked me to read her the popup screen that of course I did not have. I told her that I closed already the popup.
What’s my name? My name is Pavol Kapusta. I had to spell it for her of course. She asked me how to pronounce my first name and if it is okay for her to call me by my first name? This is not my real first and last name though of course. I said of course you can call me by my first name and I pronounced it for her again and then I explained that Pavol is the equivalent of Paul. I said, “I do not know if you are Christian but Paul was Saul and he became Paul, and how Paul was an early Christian,” blah blah blah. She chuckled and said, “Yes, I am Christian.” I explained to her that Kapusta means “cabbage” in the Slovak language and that therefore in English my name means Paul Cabbage. Finally she successfully moved the conversation forward since I was rambling.
My zip code? My zip code is 91879, and this is the zip code for the area code of my TextNow number JUST IN CASE she would Google to try to catch me in a lie.
She said that there is a breach on my network.

Well, she tried to explain to me what a network is, and of course I asked some “clarifying questions” along the way.
No Ma’am, I have NOT shared my routing number with anybody else. She asked me if I “have shared my routing number with anybody else.” I think she meant to ask me if I have shared my IP address with anybody else but maybe I am wrong.
Anyway, I do not have a virtual machine and therefore I tried to drag it out as long as possible.
Finally I asked her why you are too stupid to get and keep a reputable, legal, and legitimate job? Already her voice seemed like she was a young woman. She seemed young when she answered my question with, “Bro, I am trying to help you.”
I said, “I am NOT your ‘bro’ you stupid criminal who will die the loser that you are.”
Alas, she hung up without saying anything else.

Sometimes if you call out the criminals at a phone number for saying that they work for different companies, the stupid criminals will claim that they work for all the companies (Apple/YouTube/Amazon/Microsoft/Geek Squad/Et Cetera) OR that all of the companies are the same.
Dumbasses they are, verily shockingly stupid and criminal dumbasses …
