HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:

  • Scammer checked with “Microsoft Securities” and claimed “an attempt of hacking” took place within the past 48 hours., prompting you to connect to the “Microsoft Security Server” by opening Task Manager and downloading UltraViewer. You are not asked to close the popup.
  • After the scammer remotely connected to your computer, they will run a “security scan on your network” and ask you to run a “scan” with the netstat command, then claim that the additional “current connections” are devices used by foreign hackers.
  • The scammer will run another “security scan” by having you run the “dir/s” command to “remove the hackers.” Once complete, the command prompt will indicate that the “hackers” were “successfully removed.” But according to the “final report,” these “hackers” were from China and tempered your phone lines and networks to purchase CHILD PORNOGRAPHY FROM PORNHUB through the “Clampi Virus.”
  • Unfortunately, the benchode disconnected from the Internet before they could proceed further.
